We were able to use our FREE tickets to Hershey Park on Friday, June 13th. What a great day it was for us and Justin and Max had a GREAT time at the "chocolate park"! I won the tickets off of a local radio station and we had to be in the park by 9 am. Once we arrived and got settled we were off to the Chocolate World Museum. Here we went on the ride that took us through the process of making chocolate. Max was so excited to just be on a ride and to see chocolate was a bonus! At the end of the ride they gave a free chocolate bar and the sugar rush began! Justin and Max measured up as a Twixler and a Miniature for the ride heights and we were off to find the rides and roller coasters. The first ride of the day was a kids ride designed liked hot air balloon ride. Max and Justin rode this and you would have never known that Max was "inexperienced" at this ride business. All day long we just strapped him in and off he went! Mark and Justin found the top three scariest thriller roller coasters and spent their time in line waiting for their 90 second adventures. They had a great time together and eventually we had found the "Boardwalk" area of the park where all the water rides were. Max, Justin and Mark adventured on a couple of the water rides. Max decided it was too cold so he sat with mom in the crowd while Mark & Justin found another water slide to accomplish.
Our day at Hershey came to an end by 5:30 as we were "pooped out" and almost out of money for the $3 water bottles! Thank heavens for free tickets and parking as the food and water costs at the park are every sky rocketing!

Today we were off to Reston to visit the Reston Zoo! The park is small but close enough to let the kids get up close and personal with sheep, goats, birds, ponies, alligators, monkey's, turtles, and a zillion other little creatures! We skipped the wagon ride as the line was long and the lunch was calling but, Max did get to ride on his very first pony. He was not scared at all and I put him on the saddle, showed him where to put his hands and off he went . . . of course with the help of the pony assistant leading him around the court yard. I can't wait to get my pictures downloaded so I can share them with you! His Grandpa Tippets would have been very proud!
